No Games Scheduled For Today

Tuesday, December 9, 2025 3:24:06 PM Hello all! Thank you for a very successful first week of games at Narrow Valley. We had some great competition and a lot of fun had by the kids. A few things I wanted to address moving forward with games. 1. It is obvious that the between game crowds with spacing and overcrowding are a concern by all, including us at Narrow Valley. We are doing our very best to accommodate all levels of overcrowding as we could. Parking: Outside of the main entrance, I encourage overflow to park on the side of the building (STR54 side of building) on the other side of the gas station. This is our side entrance into the baseball area, but there is more parking on this side of the facility that is available when our front parking lot becomes impossible to move. We are going to ensure we have parking staff in both lots to accommodate traffic. In-between Games: Please plan to arrive no more than 10 minutes before your scheduled game time. This should help to alleviate some of the overcrowding experienced when 4 new teams are coming in on the hour as the 4 teams that just played are trying to exit. 2. Out of bounds: Apologies on my behalf for inconsistencies with what is played as out of bounds. The blue sideline and baseline is played as out of bounds as normal. I will re-clarify with the refs that this is out of bounds. There may have been some confusion on their part with my adult league playing the fence and wall as out of bounds, but 3/4 kids do not require that extra space to use. 3. Volleyball Line: Coaches: please make sure your players know they cannot cross the volleyball line that is just beyond the top of the key. I will also make sure that refs are monitoring this closely and understanding that this age group can be see ball get ball, it may happen once or twice throughout the game, but it should be tightened up, nonetheless. 4. Parents and Coaches; let's all keep in mind that we are here for the betterment of the kids that are playing. There may be missed calls in the game, may be some things that 3/4 graders do that are outside of the rules that refs may let go occasionally, but let's all try to continue to be positive, hold off on negativity toward the refs or other parents, and be respectful of each other. 5. Fans entering the court: SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN. There was an instance with a game this weekend where a ref missed a call near the end of the game, and when the game was over a fan entered the court to confront the ref about this. We are all human, including the refs, and missed calls may happen. No fans should be interrupting game flow to enter the court and confront a ref. Again, please use any feedback you have and gear that toward me. I am available to anyone on gamedays or via email or text throughout the week. 5. Substitutions: Must be made every 4 minutes when the clock is stopped. Subs cannot be made outside of the allotted time unless emergent situations; like injuries, a player has asthma, etc... 6. I appreciate any feedback, positive or negative, that teams, coaches or parents have. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any thoughts or concerns that I may have not addressed here. As mentioned above, any negative feedback or remarks should not be made to coaches, refs or other parents, you all have my email and number, and I have no problem addressing any concerns anyone has. 7. The schedule will remain semi-fluid as the season goes on. I would love to have the schedule put out and it doesn't change for the entirety of the season, but that is just unrealistic. Let's all be mindful of schedule changes as they arise, and I will always look to make sure with coaches' availability before making any changes to the schedule. 8. Tip-Off's Week 1, we started all games with a side out. We will look to incorporate tip-offs within week 2 or 3. We thought it was best for the kids to get to their defense right from the start. Coaches: I am sure most of you have already, but make sure players know where to lineup in tip-off situations, as we will be doing a jump most likely starting this week. 9. Interior Spacing: For this Saturday only, we have a pickleball tournament that will be utilizing all 4pickleball courts. We also have our regularly scheduled soccer and volleyball in the morning. This being said, it is incredibly important for spectators with younger kids to not allow those kids onto other areas of the facility while the games are going on. We will have a very busy morning at the with most of our areas being used. 10. Fitness Center: Very Important, our Fitness Center is not to be used as flood space for spectators or for kids to run around in there. There are a lot of moving parts in our fitness center, with heavy weights being used. Kids cannot be running around in the fitness center and bumping into our members who are working out. This could be very dangerous for both the kids and for our members who are working out. Also, the fitness benches that are lined up along the netting for court 1, are not to be used as seats for spectators. These are equipment that our members use during their workouts, not for kids and parents to sit on. Thank you all and we will see everyone on Saturday! Brandon
